A nuclear power facility recently ordered a nearly $400,000 EverGEN 1530 solar LED outdoor lighting system for a security lighting project provided by Carmanah, which will increase the security of the site by providing backup safety lighting in the event of a power failure.
"We have confirmation that the need for high-performance, reliability and cost savings in an off-grid, outdoor lighting system is being met by the EverGEN product," said Bruce Cousins, CEO for Carmanah. "We're confident that utilities will continue to ask for EverGEN systems by name."
The solar energy-powered lighting system is designed specifically for industrial-scale applications including parking lot and perimeter lighting, which have the ability to meet the security functions mandated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Sustainable LED lighting also will bring smiles to people's faces in the Republic of Zambia in southern Africa, through Lemnis Lighting's "buy one, give one" campaign.
The campaign will donate a Pharox Solar Kit to a family in Zambia when someone purchases one from Lemnis Lighting.
